Commentary | Sancho, in Turkish clothes, is taken over shoulders through Barataria Island streets; several figures observe him from windows, stairs, walls, towers and balconies.
Drawing and engraving are acceptable as a whole, but poor and deficient in details. |
Notes | 1 - Plate XVIII.
2 - Surrounded by a strong line enclosing underneath a space for inscription, which however has been left blank. 3 - Copy after Coypel's illustration (Paris: Surugue, c. 1728-30). 4 - Probably, the copy has been done after the plate for Paris/La Haye: Chez Bleuet, 1774, which has a similar frame and underneath space but with caption. |
